Champions Crowned at the 2022 AKC Fast CAT Invitational

Highlighting speed, the 2022 AKC Fast CAT Invitational coincided with the AKC National Championship presented by Royal Canin, taking place from December 13 to December 17 in Orlando, Florida.

For the third edition of the AKC Fast CAT Invitational, the top five fastest representatives of each dog breed, as determined by AKC Fast Coursing Ability Tests (Fast CAT) ratings, were invited to compete. A total of over 380 dogs from across the United States, representing 177 breeds (including mixed breeds), participated in the event.

Over the course of three days, each dog completed two runs in the preliminary rounds. They competed in two divisions: Pure Speed and Speed of the Breed. The Pure Speed division recognized the top 10 fastest competitors (by height class), while the Speed of the Breed division acknowledged the top 10 dogs that ran fastest compared to their breed’s average speed. The winners of each division were named the 2022 Pure Speed Champion and the 2022 Speed of the Breed Champion, respectively.
