The 2023 AKC Diving Dogs Challenge took place on April 2 at the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, in collaboration with North American Diving Dogs. The competition featured three disciplines: Distance, Air Retrieve, and Hydro Dash, with winners announced in each category.

The event was broadcast on ESPN2 on April 9, with champions declared for each discipline.

Distance Jumping

In the Distance Jumping category, dogs vied for the farthest jump measured from the end of the dock to the base of the dog’s tail when it broke water.

Get Started in Diving Dogs

If you’re interested in Diving Dogs and have a water-loving dog, you’re already on your way to competing. Dogs over six months, including mixed breeds, are eligible to compete in Diving Dogs (with the exception of females in season.) Titles earned through North America Diving Dogs (NADD) will be recognized by The American Kennel Club. To get started, complete the Title Application.
